Special Courses for Visiting Exchange Students

Visiting exchange students are assigned to a specific department but are allowed to take any courses, including regular courses taught in Japanese, in any department. In addition, KGU provides special courses for visiting exchange students with a limited proficiency in Japanese.

Culture ⅠA-ⅡA
2 1 time (180 min) This course has two goals:
1) To learn about visual literary works, especially animation and movies of Japan through appreciation, comparison and analysis of Japanese and other cultures.
2) To learn about traditional culture of Japan and the regional culture of Kumamoto by practically focusing on field work.

Communication Seminar Ⅱ
2 1 time (90 min) The purpose of this seminar is to get a skill to give a presentation with Japanese people. Through the preparation work, students will gain communication skills which will be required when working with foreigners in the society.
Hospitality Seminar Ⅱ 2 1 time (90 min) In this seminar, students will think about Japanese culture and hospitality by learning Japanese view point, way of thinking and way of life. In this Hospitality Seminar Ⅱ, we focus on the topics of human communication.

2 1 time (90 min) This seminar aims at acquiring communication skills with non-verbal ability, consideration for other's poor verbal ability and respect to different culture. Students will learn them though the communication and group activities with Japanese people.
Hospitality SeminarⅠ 2 1 time (90 min) Students will think about Japanese culture and hospitality by learning Japanese view point, way of thinking and way of life. In this Hospitality Seminar I, we focus on the topics of culture.

industry and companies.
