3. Selection Methods

Regular Examination

July exam only

  1. Specialized subject examination (bookkeeping)
  2. Interview (oral examination, including the question on accounting)
     

November, January, and March exam

  1. Specialized subject examination (select one out of bookkeeping, accounting, and tax accounting)
  2. Interview (oral examination, including questions on accounting)

Persons who have graduated or are expected to graduate from a university or have an equivalent qualification are eligible for this examination.

If applicants meet specific conditions such as passing a subject in the certified tax accountant examination, they shall be exempted from the requirement to take the specialized subject examination.

Examination for working people

  1. Screening of the application documents
  2. Short essay (checking applicants' fundamental background knowledge on accounting, economics, and management)
  3. Interview (oral examination, including the questions on accounting)

The interview will check applicants' fundamental background knowledge on accounting, economy, and management

Persons who have worked more than 2 years, and have graduated or are expected to graduate from a university are eligible for this examination.

Examination for recommended students

  1. Screening of the application documents
  2. Short essay (checking applicants' fundamental background knowledge on accounting, economics, and management)
  3. Interview (oral examination, including questions on accounting)

will check applicants' fundamental background knowledge on accounting, economy, and management

Persons who are expected to graduate from a university or to complete a master's degree program in the KGU Graduate School of Commerce are eligible for this examination. The applicants must submit a recommendation letter written by one of the professors at the university the applicants are graduating from.

Examination for recommended students (graduates of KGU's Specialist Accounting Course)

  1. Screening of the application documents
  2. Interview(oral examination, including questions on accounting)

Persons who are expected to graduate from Kumamoto Gakuen University's Specialist Accounting Course are eligible for this examination. The applicants must submit a recommendation letter written by one of the professors at Kumamoto Gakuen University.

Examination for recommended person from working place

  1. Screening of the application documents (including the review on research project)
  2. Interview (oral examination, including questions on accounting)

Persons who have worked more than 3 years at either a company, public office, NPO, accounting office or tax accounting office are eligible for this examination. The applicants must submit a recommendation letter written by a chief of the personnel section of the place the applicant is working for.

Examination for specially early admission students

  1. Screening of the application documents
  2. Specialized subject examination (select one out of bookkeeping, accounting, and tax accounting)
  3. Interview (oral examination, including questions on accounting)

Persons who are in the 3rd year at Kumamoto Gakuen University and have earned the prescribed credits with excellent grades are eligible for this examination. If applicants meet specific conditions such as passing a subject in the certified tax accounting examination, they shall be exempted from the requirement to take the specialized subject examination.

Examination for specially early admission students (graduates of KGU's Specialist Accounting Course)

  1. Screening of the application documents
  2. Interview (oral examination, including questions on accounting)

Persons who are in the 3rd year at Kumamoto Gakuen University's Specialist Accounting Course and are expected to earn the prescribed credits with excellent grades by the end of the 3rd year are eligible for this examination. The applicants must submit a recommendation letter written by one of the professors at Kumamoto Gakuen University.
